U.S.-based journalists working in any medium (print, TV, radio, digital, podcast) are invited to apply. The fellowship covers hotel, airfare to Washington, D.C., and most meals.
20 Journalists Gather for “Living Longer: The New Age for Aging” Fellowship
Congratulations to the 20 journalists selected for our “Living Longer: The New Age for Aging” Journalism Fellowship! We’re thrilled to welcome them to the AARP headquarters this week for training sessions examining the complexities of an increasingly multigenerational workforce.
Grants ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 will be awarded to support journalism in any medium that centers on environmental justice and environmental racism in the United States. This could include coverage of the disproportionate harms to disadvantaged communities from pollution, the effects of climate change or other relevant topics.
Applications are open now and will be accepted until Oct. 2, 2022. Work supported by these grants should be published or broadcast in a U.S. news outlet by April 2, 2023. U.S.-based journalists are eligible to apply.
Submissions must have been published or broadcast after Sept. 30, 2021. Entry fees are reduced to $25. No more than two submissions per news organization.
