Stu Woo is a reporter in the Wall Street Journal’s London bureau. He covers how tensions between China and Western countries affect business. He was previously based in Beijing until March 2020, when he was among the American journalists that the Chinese government expelled.

Since joining the Journal as an intern in 2008, Woo has also written about California politics and Silicon Valley from San Francisco, sports from New York and technology from London. The San Francisco native holds an English degree from Brown University.

Woo shared in winning, with his colleagues, the 2021 Hinrich Foundation Award for Distinguished Reporting on Trade.
