Matthew Dalton is Paris correspondent for The Wall Street Journal, covering European foreign policy, economics and trade. Previously based in Brussels and New York, he has reported from more than 20 countries on international trade, the eurozone crisis and Chinese influence in Europe and Africa. He graduated from Brown University with a degree in philosophy.

Dalton shared in winning, with his colleagues, the 2021 Hinrich Foundation Award for Distinguished Reporting on Trade.
