Chaney briefed National Press Foundation fellows in October 2024: ‘We’re All Climate Reporters.’

Rob Chaney led statewide enterprise coverage for the Missoulian and Lee Montana newspapers as a managing editor. He has covered Rocky Mountain West and its international connections since 1986. He served a Nieman Foundation Science Journalism fellowship at Harvard University in 2020 and published “The Grizzly in the Driveway” through the University of Washington Press. His reporting has received support from numerous organizations, including the 2024 Kozik Environmental Justice Reporting Grant through the National Press Foundation, Stanford University’s Big Local News Project, Alicia Patterson Foundation, American Press Foundation and Solutions Journalism.
