Renae Merle joined The Washington Post’s business desk in September 2001. She has covered local defense contractors, consumer affairs and the collapse of the housing market in 2008. Merle has also worked for the Wall Street Journal and the Associated Press. She was a Knight-Bagehot Fellow in economics and business journalism at Columbia University.
