Chang briefed National Press Foundation fellows in May 2021: How to Track Trillions in COVID Relief.

Mellissa Chang is a Research Analyst at Good Jobs First. Dreaming in python script, Mellissa uses her programming skills to collect, clean, and analyze federal funding data to feed the ever-growing Covid Stimulus Watch database. Through her research, Mellissa has uncovered various inequities and deficiencies in pandemic relief spending and oversight. Prior to Good Jobs First, she was a campaign researcher at SEIU 32BJ, where she helped advanced the union’s airport organizing campaigns and held the unofficial title of “efficiency czar.” In her spare time, she rides her bike around D.C. in protest of high metro prices. She holds a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University.
