The National Press Foundation board of directors selected Sudeep Reddy of MS NOW as chair and Jon Sawyer of the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting as its vice chair.
Reddy, Washington bureau chief for MS NOW, was previously vice chair and has served on the board since 2019. He is a 2006 alumnus of NPF’s Paul Miller Washington Reporting Fellowship and a previous winner of the Stokes Award for Energy and Environment Reporting.
“In a rapidly evolving journalism landscape, sharp and sophisticated journalists are more important than ever,” Reddy said. “For half a century, the National Press Foundation has served as one of the most consequential training organizations to advance the mission of our profession. I’m honored to help the NPF guide journalists through the changes cascading across the industry.”
Sawyer has served on the NPF board since 2008, most recently as treasurer. He is the founder and senior advisor of the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting, a non-profit that funds independent reporting on global affairs.
The board also named Robyn Tomlin as treasurer and Kevin Goldberg as secretary.
Tomlin is executive director of the American Press Institute and has served on the board since 2014.
Goldberg has served on the board since 2005 as is vice president and First Amendment expert at the Freedom Forum. He was recently honored with a 2026 First Amendment Award by the RTDNA Foundation.
The National Press Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1976 whose mission is to “make good journalists better” by providing free, on-the-record training on complex issues of the day.
