
Matt Wuerker is a political cartoonist based in Washington, DC. He was an original staff member for Politico, where he works as the staff cartoonist and illustrator. He has be awarded the National Press Foundation’s Berryman Prize, the Herblock Prize and was the recipient of the Pulitzer Prize in 2012. Prior to Politico, he was a successful freelance cartoonist, illustrator, and animator. Over the past 40 years, his cartoons have been published in dozens of newspapers and magazines. His work is syndicated internationally by Andrews McMeel Syndicate. A former president of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists, he serves on the board of the Herblock Foundation and is president of the board for Cartoonist Rights Network.
Wuerker is also the recipient of the 2010 Clifford K. and James T. Berryman Award for editorial cartooning, one of the field’s most prestigious awards.
