
Pierce briefed National Press Foundation fellows in October 2024: Centering Equity When Your Community is Small: Lessons from Montana.
Murray Pierce is the Director of Multicultural Affairs at his alma mater, the University of Montana, Missoula. He provides administrative training and mentors and counsels BIPOC students helping them navigate both the academic and non-academic aspects of student life.
Over the course of several decades, Murray continues to work as an activist, writer, presenter and influencer in the restorative justice, cultural proficiency, identity development and government spheres. He is a past appointee to the Governor of Montana’s Civil Rights Advisory Board, a founding member of the social justice-based Montana Black Collective.
