Yankah briefed National Press Foundation fellows in November 2023: Fueling Equity in Clinical Trials

Sandra E. Yankah serves as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy, contributing her expertise to projects dedicated to advancing health equity, enhancing health systems, and delving into the ethical considerations at the intersection of health policy and biomedical innovation. Yankah earned her bachelor’s degrees in psychology and sociology from Western Carolina University’s Honors College and went on to complete a master’s degree in clinical psychology at Valdosta State University. Her academic journey culminated in a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University.

During her doctoral studies, Yankah actively engaged in various research and service initiatives focused on health policy, including notable contributions to the university’s Health Insurance Advocacy Committee, participation in the Research to Policy Collaboration, and the completion of the Virginia Academy of Science Engineering and Medicine’s COVES fellowship. Now based in Durham, North Carolina, Yankah’s dedication to bridging the gap between research and policy underscores her commitment to fostering positive change in healthcare systems and promoting inclusivity in biomedical advancements.
