NPF Adds New Staff

The National Press Foundation is pleased to announce three new staff members have joined the team to “make good journalists better!”

Rachel Jones joins us as our Director of Journalism Initiatives. Rachel has worked as a journalist and media consultant for more than 30 years in the U.S. and Africa. She has worked for the Detroit Free Press, National Public Radio, Internews, the International Center for Journalists, Kenya’s Nation Media Group and Voice of America. Since 2018, Rachel has produced digital content for National Geographic’s digital platform. In Kenya, Jones developed the Kenyan Alliance of Health and Science Reporters journalism training project. At NPF she will be leading the “Widening the Pipeline” fellowship for journalists of color, as well as fellowships covering medicine and health.

Anne Godlasky joins us as Director of Journalism Training. Anne comes directly to NPF following 16 years at USA TODAY. There, she worked in many capacities, including producer and editor roles on the health, social media, investigative, national news and politics teams, most recently focused on in-depth projects related to the Departments of Justice, Defense and State as well as international affairs. She was also a 2020 Nieman fellow at Harvard. Anne will produce NPF’s Paul Miller Reporting in Washington fellowship, and various programs, including those covering government and investigations.

Sydney Clark was promoted from summer intern to fellow to Multimedia Producer. Sydney received her master’s in Multiplatform Journalism in May 2021 from the University of Maryland. In her new role, she assists with research, training, social media, video editing and office administration.
