Understanding Fishing and Conservation Challenges
Take a deep dive into fishing and conservation challenges on the world’s oceans. During this five-day West Coast program, journalists will learn about the impact of climate change and development on coastal communities and marine health; sustainable fishing practices; offshore drilling; seafood fraud and mislabeling; and more. Lectures and field trips will feature the Pacific, but will be applicable to all marine locales.
The training will be held March 17-21 in San Francisco and Monterey Bay.
Deadline to apply Jan. 22, 2019.
The all-expenses-paid fellowship covers airfare, ground transportation, hotel costs and most meals. NPF offers this professional development opportunity for journalists to enhance skills, increase knowledge and recharge their reporting on one of today’s most critical issues. This program is for U.S.-based journalists only.
Support for this program is provided by the David and Lucile Packard Foundation.
