Coming Soon: Future of Oceans and Fishing

Check back in early December when NPF will begin accepting applications for a five-day training program on the future of marine health and sustainable fishing. In presentations and field trips, journalists will learn about threats to marine biodiversity, wildlife and communities from unsustainable fishing practices; seafood fraud and mislabeling; aquaculture; climate change and coastal development; offshore oil and gas drilling; and illegal fishing.

The training will be held in mid-March (dates TBA) in San Francisco and Monterey, California.

The all-expenses-paid fellowship for 20 journalists covers airfare, ground transportation, hotel costs and most meals. NPF offers this professional development opportunity for journalists to enhance skills, increase knowledge and recharge their reporting on today’s most critical issues. This program is for U.S.-based journalists only.

Support for this program is provided by the David and Lucile Packard Foundation.
