Huawei is a telecommunications giant, connecting a third of the world’s population across 170 countries. The China-based company, little known in the U.S., built its success by sinking money into research and development, said Bill Plummer, Huawei’s vice president of external affairs.

 The company has 16 R&D centers and preaches innovation to its employees.“When the bureaucracy catches up and passes innovation, that’s when companies choke,” he said. Plummer describes Huawei’s unusual rotating CEO structure in this video.
