A Global Look at Farming and Tech Innovation

Monsanto President Brett Begemann is proud of what his company has done to increase crop yields, but he wants to be clear that he is not pushing farmers to plant more corn or soybeans. Farmers in India can double their income through increased cotton yields on the same land, he said. That improves their children’s chance to eat better and get a better education, he said.

He discussed the company’s goals, its effort to purchase chemical giant Syngenta and the future of agricultural technology with NPF journalists who spent time at the company’s research center. Audio and a video interview are here.
