Six Decades of Asian Business Acumen

Merle Hinrich created Global Sources, an international trade company that flourished from his six decades of hands-on experience in Asian markets.

In a question-and-answer session with National Press Foundation fellows, Hinrich shared his story and discussed his thoughts on current trade events.

Global Sources was acquired in 2017 by Blackstone. Hinrich then founded the Hinrich Foundation, which is devoted to promoting sustainable international trade through education and research. The Hinrich Foundation sponsored the first NPF Journalist to Journalist fellowship on international trade issues in June 2019.

This program is funded by the Hinrich Foundation. NPF is solely responsible for the content.
