Sophia Schechner joined the National Press Foundation as an intern in May 2026. She is a rising senior at the College of William & Mary and is currently working on a BA in English with a minor in Creative Writing. She was elected to be a part of the James Monroe Scholars Program, a group of W&M students who demonstrate intellectual depth, curiosity, academic passion, and care for the community. She is a peer advisor for incoming W&M freshmen and also works at W&M’s writing center, an editing company, a bookstore, and as an AI literacy intern. Sophia’s dream is to work in the publishing industry, and she hopes to expand her knowledge of different fields and styles of writing with NPF.
