Wändi Bruine de Bruin is professor of behavioral decision-making at the Leeds University Business School, where she also serves as director of the Centre for Decision Research and deputy director of the Priestley International Centre for Climate. From January 2020, she will be provost professor of public policy, psychology and behavioral science at the University of Southern California, and serve as the inaugural director of the behavioral science initiative in the Leonard D. Schaeffer Center for Health Policy and Economics. She holds a doctorate in behavioral decision research and psychology from Carnegie Mellon University. Her research aims to understand and inform how, across the life span, people make decisions about their finances, their health and their environmental impacts. She has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers on these topics. She is a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Applied, Psychology and Aging; the Journal of Behavioral Decision Making; Decision; Medical Decision Making; and the Journal of Risk Research. She is a fellow of the U.K. Academy of Social Sciences and has served on expert panels on science communication for the U.S. National Academy of Sciences.
