Susan Hay Patrick is chief executive officer of United Way of Missoula County. Her past experience includes serving as deputy director of Feeding America, one of the nation’s 10-largest nonprofits; working as a fundraiser and communications director in Washington, DC, for a national NGO; serving as executive director of a national foundation; and operating her own independent consulting business.

Prior to joining the nonprofit sector, she was a reporter for a daily newspaper and a corporate communications writer for a Fortune 500 company.
Susan has served on or chaired local, state, and national boards of directors. She is currently a board member of the Missoula Area Chamber of Commerce and the Glacier National Park Conservancy. She is the state chair of Montana United Ways and a longtime Montana Ambassador, appointed by the governor to serve as an ambassador for economic development in Montana. Susan has won numerous awards for local, state and national service, including the U.S. State Department’s Professional Fellows Alumni Impact Award.
