Wilson briefed journalists in January 2024: Missing People of Color ‘Shunned’ by the Media, Advocates Say

Natalie Wilson is an accomplished public and media relations expert with over two decades of experience in the field. As Co-Founder and COO of the Black and Missing Foundation, Inc (BAMFI), Natalie tirelessly works to bring attention to the issue of missing persons of color. Natalie has a proven track record of garnering local, national, and international media coverage with platforms such as The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, The View, Associated Press, CNN, Essence, Fox 5 DC, Huffington Post, NPR, Oxygen.com, People, Oprah Daily, New York Times, and the Washington Post.

She has been recognized for her contributions to her community and her field. She has been awarded the Black Girls Rock! “Community Change Agent” award, the L’Oréal Paris “Women of Worth” honor, and the inaugural CrimeCon “Crime Fighter of the Year” award. Additionally, Natalie has received the 15th Television Academy Award and is recognized as a 2022 Ebony Power 100 honoree, and the 2022 and 2023 Root 100 Most Influential Black Americans for activism/justice.

Natalie is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and ColorComm. She holds a Master of Arts in Communications from Trinity University, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Howard University, and a certificate in Strategic Perspectives in Non-Profit Management from Harvard Business School Executive Education.

Natalie is also the founder of a boutique public relations agency, NWR Communications Group, which helps nonprofits, foundations, and businesses gain visibility for their cause through publicity. She resides in Washington, D.C. with her family.
