Matt Biggs is the president of the 90,000-member International Federation of Professional Technical Engineers (IFPTE). He was first elected to that role in August 2021 and prior to that served the union as its Secretary-Treasurer and earlier as its Legislative Director. IFPTE represents highly skilled workers in the public, private, and non-profit sectors, including engineers at Boeing, rocket scientists at NASA, administrative law judges who hear disability cases at the Social Security Administration and immigration judges employed at the Department of Justice, as just a few examples. The union is affiliated with the AFL-CIO.
