
Judge Margaret J. Fujioka was elected to the Alameda County Superior Court on June 7, 2016. She is currently assigned to Collaborative Courts. She serves on the Criminal Law Executive Committee of the Alameda County Bar Association. Immediately prior to becoming a judge, Fujioka was an administrative hearing officer with Oakland, Alameda County and San Francisco, and before that was a deputy city attorney in the Oakland City Attorney’s Office. Fujioka was elected to the Piedmont City Council in 2008 and re-elected in 2012 with the highest number of votes in both contested races. She served as Piedmont’s mayor from 2014-2016. Fujioka is a past president of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association and the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and her law degree from UC Hastings College of the Law
