Trawinski briefed National Press Foundation fellows in September 2022: Battling Artificial Intelligence Bias

Lori Trawinski is a thought leader on age diversity and inclusion in the workforce. She joined the AARP Public Policy Institute in 2010 and conducts research on policy issues ranging from age diversity in the workplace, to mortgage foreclosures, student loans and consumer credit. She led a multi-year initiative, the Future of Work@50+, that examined employment challenges faced by older Americans. She is frequently sought after by the media to discuss topics such as: age diversity, equity, and inclusion; financial issues; and consumer debt.

A professional stand-up comedian, Lori is known for delivering humorous, engaging, and energetic presentations. She has travelled the country presenting on the topic of age diversity and inclusion at conferences and corporate events. Her groundbreaking report, “Disrupting Aging in the Workplace: Profiles in Intergenerational Diversity Leadership,” continues to serve as a reference for organizations seeking to address age within their DEI strategies.

As an adjunct faculty instructor at the New York University School of Professional Studies, Lori teaches a graduate course examining current and future trends in human capital analytics and technology. She has also developed and teaches courses on creating diversity metrics and improving diversity hiring with technology, two core courses in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Certificate Program.

Lori is a member of The Conference Board’s Diversity and Inclusion Innovators Council. She is a member of the Human Capital Investment and International Reporting Forum. Lori also serves as a commissioner on the Certified Financial Planner Board Standards Resource Commission.

Lori holds a Ph.D. in economics and finance, an M.A. in international economics, and a B.A. in financial management from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. In addition, she holds an executive certificate in financial planning from Georgetown University. Lori completed the diversity and inclusion certificate program at the ILR School of Cornell University and is a Cornell Certified Diversity Professional/Advanced Practitioner.
