White briefed National Press Foundation fellows in June 2022: Domestic Terrorism and White Supremacy: What Reporters Should Know.

Kesa White is a program research associate at the Polarization and Extremism Research and Innovation Lab (PERIL) at American University. In addition to her role at PERIL, she is a fellow at the Accelerationism Research Consortium (ARC) and the Extremism and Gaming Research Network. Ms. White received her B.A. in International Studies with a concentration in Foreign Policy and National Security and M.S. in Terrorism and Homeland Security from American University.

White’s passion for her research comes from when she was a target of a racially-motivated hate crime, followed by cyber-harassment by members of white supremacist groups in 2017 with her sorority sister while at American University.

Today, White continues to share her research on white supremacy and ways to actively combat it. Ms. White has served on various panels, taught master classes, interviewed by media outlets, and published op-eds and peer-reviewed articles. In her spare time, Ms. White enjoys spending time with her dog Fendi, traveling, riding her Peloton, and spending time with her friends and family.
