
John D. Keller serves as the Principal Deputy Chief of the Public Integrity Section (PIN) at the U.S. Department of Justice. Mr. Keller leads the Section and its Election Crimes Branch, including the day-to-day operations of the Election Threats Task Force. Mr. Keller is a national subject matter expert in public corruption and election crimes and regularly advises Department leadership, United States Attorney’s Offices, and federal law enforcement. Mr. Keller previously served as an Assistant United States Attorney, an Assistant Federal Public Defender, and a litigation associate in a national law firm. Mr. Keller clerked for the Honorable Barry G. Silverman on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
He graduated summa cum laude and order of the coif from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he attended on academic scholarship, and he received his Bachelor’s degree with honors from Washington University in St. Louis. In addition to his responsibilities at the Department, Mr. Keller teaches a constitutional law course at Georgetown University Law School.
