Fatima Hussein is the Treasury Department reporter for The Associated Press. She covers agency news, fiscal policy changes and most currently sanctions actions the U.S. imposes on Russia, its banks and leadership for the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine. Fatima previously worked at Bloomberg Law, where she covered occupational, mine and chemical safety and the law. She also worked as a legal reporter for the Indianapolis Star and as a labor reporter for the Cincinnati Enquirer. She graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law and the University of North Florida.
