Emma Cordover is a digital producer at Politico. She started at Politico in February 2023 and has been covering sustainability and labor topics and authoring the Women Rule newsletter.

Her sustainability and labor reporting includes interviewing United Autoworkers President Shawn Fain about bargaining at a North Carolina-based EV truck manufacturer, uncovering a union fight at a Biden administration-funded hydrogen hub and reporting on the dearth of green-skilled workers ahead of 2050. Her reporting in Women Rule ranges from an interview with a former member of Maria Corina Machado’s party on her involvement in the Venezuelan election fight from exile, an interview with AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler on how women are changing the labor movement and interviews with state lawmakers on how the politicization of in-vitro fertilization was spurring fertility care coverage bills across the country.

Emma is a Washington, D.C., native and graduate of Cornell University, where she studied psychology and English. She is half-Spanish-half-American, and most of her family, including her twin sister, live in Spain.

Cordover briefed National Press Foundation fellows in March 2025: How Trump’s Immigration ‘Blitz’ Impacts Undocumented Women.
