
Dr. Carl Orringer is an associate professor of clinical medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and director of the Preventive Cardiovascular Medicine Program at the University of Miami Health System. He was the first recipient of the Harrington Chair in Preventive Cardiovascular Medicine at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a past president and fellow of the National Lipid Association. Orringer is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and served as a member of the writing committee of the American College of Cardiology Expert Consensus Decision Pathway on the Role of Non-Statin Therapies for LDL Cholesterol Lowering in the Management of Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease Risk, published in July 2016, and of the update in 2017. He served as a member of the writing committee of the 2018 American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association Guideline on the Management of Blood Cholesterol. He has authored or co-authored multiple National Lipid Association Scientific Statements. He wrote the lipid management section in the 2019 American College of Cardiology Self-Assessment Program.
