Christopher Garver is the Deputy Director of the Press Operations section of the Office of the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs. He has supervised 27 desk officers who provide continuous and global media relations support and strategic communication counsel to senior leaders in the Department of Defense since October 2019. Before his current position, Garver worked as a Senior Communications Specialist for IntelliWare Services in Fredricksburg, Virginia. He supported the Counterintelligence Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a Technical Writer at FBI Headquarters in Washington, DC. Prior to this position, Garver served as a commissioned officer in the United States Army for more than 30 years. His final assignment was as the Chief of Public Affairs for United States Army Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii, where he retired as a Colonel in February of 2019.
