Barb Rosewicz oversees the online resource “Fiscal 50” for Pew’s states’ fiscal health project. The resource helps policymakers understand fiscal, economic and demographic trends affecting their states by tracking tax revenue, reserves, employment rates, Medicaid spending and other issues important to long-term fiscal health. She also oversees research on the characteristics of fiscally well-managed states and the practices available to policymakers to improve the long-term trajectory of their states’ finances. Rosewicz previously served as managing editor of Stateline, a Pew initiative that provides daily reporting and analysis on trends in state policy. Before joining Pew, Rosewicz was a reporter for The

Wall Street Journal in Washington and the Middle East, and previously served as statehouse bureau chief in Topeka, Kansas, for United Press International. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Kansas.
