Zarrow briefed National Press Foundation fellows in March 2022: Voting Rights: How to Track Bills Affecting Voters and Bills: How to Understand Legislative Language.

Amanda Zarrow is the director of Legal and Legislative Tracking at the Voting Rights Lab. Previously, Zarrow worked as a staff attorney at the Promise of Justice Initiative in New Orleans, where she represented a class of nearly 6,000 incarcerated men in a federal lawsuit challenging the denial of medical care at Louisiana’s infamous Angola Prison.

During her time at PJI, Zarrow also worked on litigation and advocacy campaigns to end the death penalty in Louisiana and successfully represented Louisiana’s longest-serving incarcerated woman before the state’s pardon board. She also has extensive litigation and investigations experience in the private sector. Zarrow is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and Harvard Law School.
