NPF Names 16 Journalists for Third Future of the American Child Fellowship

The National Press Foundation is pleased to welcome 16 journalists from across the country to its third Future of the American Child Fellowship. The fellows were selected from newsrooms large and small for their level of interest in children’s issues and their proposals for future coverage.

The journalism training, the final in the fellowship series, will be held Jan. 21-24, 2024, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Journalists will explore a range of relevant topics, including economic security for children and families, post-COVID child health and education, child welfare reform, and reimagining juvenile justice.

The first Future of the American Child fellowship took place in McAllen, Texas, in January. The second fellowship took place in Cleveland, Ohio, in May. All content from those fellowships is available to journalists and the public.
