Inaugural Media Training on Science Communication

The National Press Foundation and Foundation Ipsen announce the selection of 25 journalists from the European Union and the United States to participate in the first-ever Paris Accords of Science Communication.

This four-day training program offers journalists the opportunity to interact with scientific experts and learn better ways to communicate science to the public. The convening will reveal newly published scientific information, facilitate interaction between journalists and scientists, provide tools to journalists for covering science, and offer field trips to leading French scientific institutions.

Issues explored during the program will include the neuroscience of hate, the science of pain, social determinants of health, childhood trauma and its lifelong impact, the plight of refugees and victims of human trafficking, and more.

“The National Press Foundation is proud to partner with Dr. James Levine and Fondation Ipsen on this important training for journalists who translate scientific research for the public,” said Sandy K. Johnson, NPF president and COO.

“The informed communication of science is critical to deliver the full value of science to society,” said Dr. James A. Levine, president of Fondation Ipsen.
