Jen Sorensen’s weekly cartoon appears in alternative newspapers around the United States, including Seven Days in Burlington, VT, The Austin Chronicle, C-VILLE Weekly in Charlottesville, VA, Boulder Weekly, Illinois Times, and Tucson Weekly. Over the past year, her work was published in The Nation, Politico, In These Times, and a variety of digital media outlets including Daily Kos, The Nib, and Andrews McMeel Universal’s GoComics.

Sorensen was a 2017 Pulitzer Prize Finalist and the winner of the 2014 Herblock Prize, a 2013 Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award, and a 2013 National Cartoonists Society Award for Editorial Cartooning. She has also won numerous awards from the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies, including First Place in the Cartoon category in 2014. In 2015, she received an Inkpot Award for career achievement in comic arts from San Diego Comic-Con International.

Jen served as President of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists in 2021. From 2014-2018, Sorensen worked as Comics Editor for Univision-owned sites Fusion and Splinter, commissioning illustrated essays and graphic journalism pieces. Over the years, she has done illustrations and graphic journalism for the ACLU, NPR, Kaiser Health News, The Oregonian, and the National Women’s Law Center.

Sorensen is the 2023 winner of the Clifford K. and James T. Berryman Award for Editorial Cartoons.
