Dave Altimari is a member of The Connecticut Mirror’s investigative team, pursuing stories on government accountability, including financial oversight, abuse of power, corruption, safety monitoring, and compliance with the law. Before joining The Mirror, Altimari spent 23 years at The Hartford Courant breaking some of the state’s biggest, most impactful stories, including the investigation that led to the impeachment and arrest of former Gov. John G. Rowland on corruption charges, children being improperly restrained and dying in psychiatric hospitals, and abuse in the Catholic Church.

Altimari is the 2023 AARP Award for Excellence in Journalism on Aging Award Winner.
