Peter Cherukuri is currently the Vice President and General Manager for political and public affairs partnerships at Altice News, the parent company to media disruptor, Cheddar. He is driving the product strategy and revenue for the DC bureau for Cheddar, as it invests in covering Washington power and the 2020 cycle for a millennial-influencer audience. Previously, Peter has had senior executive leadership roles at Politico, Huffington Post, and the Economist Group leading the funding of great political journalism with innovative brand solutions. In addition to his media interests, Peter is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor. He served as President of the startup incubator, 1776, co-founded a DC based angel investment group, K Street Capital, and co-founded a think tank focused on data policy, The Data Catalyst Institute. A graduate of Colgate University, Peter has served on the board of the National Press Foundation since 2007 and has also served on the board of West Virginia University Reed College of Media, National League of Cities – Race Equality Leadership Initiative, Shakespeare Theater Company, and the Close-up Foundation. Originally from Mingo County, West Virginia, Peter is based in Washington, DC.
