Thomas Frank is an investigative reporter at USA Today, and was a Pulitzer Prize finalist in 2012 for a series of stories on public-sector pensions. Before joining the investigative team, Frank covered homeland security, aviation, and did several reporting stints in Iraq for USA Today. He previously worked at Newsday, the Denver Post, the Providence (RI) Journal, and the Express-Times in Easton, PA.

Frank has won national journalism awards from the Scripps Howard Foundation, the Society of American Business Editors and Writers, the Press Club of Atlantic City, and was a finalist for a Loeb Award for business reporting. He has been an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland college of journalism since 2004.
