
Ramon Padilla is the co-winner of the 2022 NPF Innovative Storytelling Award, along with with Aleszu Bajak for their story for USA Today titled “‘Hope’ is out, ‘fight’ is in: Does tweeting divide Congress, or simply echo its division?”
Ramon Padilla is a visual journalist for USA TODAY’s graphics and data visualization team. He specializes on storytelling using motion graphics, animation, and data visualization. His work has been seen in other National Press Foundation awarded projects, Information is Beautiful awards, Society of News Design, and featured in a finalist in the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting.
Prior to his roll on the USA TODAY graphics team Ramon was a lead designer for USA TODAY designing for the Life section as well as the front page of USA TODAY.
Before USA TODAY, Ramon was the staff artist at the Salinas Californian where he produced news graphics and designed the weekly entertainment tabloid covers.
