
Peter Balonon-Rosenis an award-winning audio producer and reporter.
He most recently worked at NPR as a producer for Throughline. Prior to that he made podcasts at Marketplace, where he worked as a reporter/producer for The Uncertain Hour and was a founding producer of This Is Uncomfortable.
As a journalist, Balonon-Rosen often focuses on the forces, history and policies that shape inequality and culture in America. He’s covered Supreme Court history, welfare privatization, minor league baseball labor, the social-emotional impact of wealth/class, education and more. He’s drawn to stories about people, ideologies and systems that create the framework of our world and the media we consume.
Balonon-Rosen’s work has been heard in popular places across the radio and podcast world, including Snap Judgment, Reveal, Planet Money, Marketplace, NPR‘s All Things Considered and Morning Edition, WBUR and more. His work has been recognized with a nomination from the Peabody Awards, as a finalist in the IRE (Investigative Reporters and Editors) Awards and has won awards from the National Headliners Awards, the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing, the Education Writers Association and local Society of Professional Journalists awards. He graduated from Tufts University.
