He previously worked as a freelancer, writing about and photographing extractive industries across southern Africa, the Caribbean and the U.S. His investigations have appeared in numerous titles, including USA Today, the Los Angeles Time, High Country News, The Arizona Republic, the Mail & Guardian, Mother Jones and the Center for Public Integrity.
