Christopher Rowland is Washington Bureau Chief and Assistant Managing Editor of The Boston Globe. He oversaw the paper’s 2012 presidential campaign reporting, including the candidacy of GOP nominee Mitt Romney. He has edited investigative projects that were selected as finalists for the Gerald Loeb Award and the Goldsmith Prize. For the Broken City series, he contributed articles about congressional gridlock on tax and climate change policy and partisan dysfunction at the Federal Election Commission.
Prior to arriving in Washington, he was the Globe’s Metro Political Editor in Boston. From 2003 to 2007 he was a healthcare writer on the business desk, producing award-winning coverage about passage of the Medicare prescription benefit law. He previously worked at The Providence Journal, the Brattleboro Reformer, in Vermont, and The Associated Press. Chris is a graduate of the University of Arizona.
