
Cheryl Evans is a photographer/videographer at The Arizona Republic creating content for daily and long-term documentaries. Evans and Debra Utacia Krol are the winners of the 2021 NPF Feddie Reporting Award.
A 1991 graduate from Arizona State University, Evans has won numerous national and local awards. She was part of a team that won the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for explanatory reporting on the U.S./Mexico border wall and has been awarded a Rocky Mountain Emmy four times for her storytelling. Prior to joining the Republic, Evans worked for The Arizona Business Journal and The Orange County Register. Evans is married to fellow photojournalist Michael Chow and together they share three children.
Evans accepted the Feddie Award at the NPF awards dinner May 4, 2022 with Debra Krol, who delivered the acceptance speech.
