Andrew Freedman is a veteran climate science and policy reporter and editor.

He was among the first reporters to popularize the term “polar vortex” during the infamous East Coast winter of 2013 to 2014. He served as a deputy editor at The Washington Post until April of this year, focused on extreme weather and climate change. He now covers climate science and policy at Axios, where he co-writes the daily Generate newsletter.

Andrew graduated from Tufts University with a BA in political science; and holds a Masters in Climate and Society from Columbia University and a Masters of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts.
