Janhvi Bhojwani is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and open-source intelligence (OSINT) specialist focused on digital verification, misinformation, and social newsgathering in fast-moving online environments. She spent seven years at NBC News, working her way up from intern to reporter, where she specialized in newsgathering, sourcing, and verifying user-generated content and reporting on breaking news, elections, international affairs, conflicts, and emerging challenges around synthetic media and information integrity. She also taught monthly company-wide trainings through NBCU Academy and helped lead the network’s misinformation monitoring efforts during the 2024 election cycle.
Bhojwani has also worked with The Telegraph and Associated Press as an independent reporter and verification specialist. She is the co-founder of Overstimulated, a project exploring how journalists and audiences process information in increasingly saturated digital environments, and writes The Information Ecosystem, a newsletter examining how technology, algorithms, and digital platforms shape the way information spreads globally.
Originally from Guam and Jakarta, Indonesia, Bhojwani holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Georgetown University and a certificate in Ethics, Technology and Public Policy from Stanford University. During graduate school, she conducted original interview-based research on misinformation and global fact-checking ecosystems, work that was later acknowledged in published academic research. She also conducted Fulbright-Hays research in Indonesia examining social media and misinformation ahead of the country’s presidential elections.
Bhojwani is a proud member of the inaugural class of the National Press Foundation’s Widening the Pipeline Fellowship and is particularly interested in how AI, synthetic media, and platform dynamics are reshaping verification practices and public trust in information.
