
Amy Nakamura is a social media editor for The Washington Post, where she produces content and leads strategy across all platforms (X, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Threads and Bluesky). Amy also focuses on politics coverage and breaking news for the team. In 2025, she won a Webby Award in the Social, News, and Politics category. Previously, she worked as an audience editor for USA Today’s Politics/Government team.
Amy is originally from O’ahu, Hawai’i, and outside of work, loves to cook food that reminds her of home. She currently lives in Washington, D.C. with her partner and cat, Miso.
