
Patricia Kime is a journalist and author whose work has appeared in numerous publications, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, Military.com, Defense News, Military Times and KFF Health News. She has covered military and veteran health care since 2011, reporting on combat-related illness and injuries and Defense and Veterans Affairs health policy, and is co-author of a chapter on military families in A Battle Plan for Supporting Military Families (Springer, 2018). Kime received the top prize for excellence in health care journalism from the Association of Health Care Journalists in 2020, the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation Honorable Mention for National Defense Reporting for 2022 and the Joe Galloway Award from Military Reporters and Editors, Inc. in 2023. A former analyst with the U.S. intelligence community, she holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of Virginia.
