
Hannah Furfaro is a mental health reporter at The Seattle Times. Before moving to Seattle, Hannah worked as a science and health journalist in New York. She previously worked at newspapers in California and Iowa, and has published stories in The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, Science, The Guardian and Scientific American.
Her work has been honored with the Association of Health Care Journalists’ Beat Reporter of the Year award and the Best of the West explanatory journalism award, among others. She was a finalist for the Deadline Club award and the NIHCM award and is a former Rosalynn Carter Mental Health Journalism and USC data fellow.
She has a bachelor’s degree from The University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s degree from Columbia University.
