
Charles Bradley is the Mecklenburg County Youth and Family Services (YFS) Division Director. With an annual budget of $55 million and over 450 staff, Mr. Bradley oversees a full continuum of child welfare services to strengthen families and communities to keep children safe in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was named to the position of YFS Division Director effective on December 2, 2013. Mr. Bradley has been a YFS employee since March 2004 and held the position of Sr. Social Services Manager prior to being named as the YFS Division Director.
Prior to joining Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services Youth and Family Services Division, Mr. Bradley was employed at the Connecticut Department of Children and Families for 11 + years and held the positions of Program Supervisor, Social Work Supervisor and Social Worker before relocating to North Carolina.Mr. Bradley earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Trinity College (Hartford, CT) and a Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University (New York, NY).Mr. Bradley was awarded the prestigious Annie E. Casey Foundation Children and Families Fellowship in 2019. The Children and Family Fellowship is the Casey Foundation’s signature program to develop the potential of leaders in nonprofit, philanthropic and public organizations working to improve outcomes for children and families. In 2021, Mr. Bradley was selected for induction into the New Haven Gridiron Club Hall of Fame.
The New Haven Gridiron Club recognizes those who, not only have excelled on the gridiron, but who have supported and advanced the great game of football and those who have shown courage, character, and leadership off the field.Mr. Bradley is married and has twin daughters. Mr. Bradley enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching sporting events, traveling and mountain biking in his spare time. He is a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan and is a fan of the Charlotte Hornets and Charlotte FC.
