
Rodwell briefed National Press Foundation fellows in November 2023: The Goal and Success for Renewed European Rare Disease Policy.
Charlotte Rodwell has 14 years of experience working for the rare disease community, with a focus on public health policies, health data and international cooperation. For six years, she worked with the European rare disease community as an international cooperation and strategic communications officer at the INSERM, supporting the Scientific Secretariat of the EU Committee on Rare Diseases/European Commission Expert Group on Rare Diseases (2009-2014). During this time, she managed the production of the annual report on the State of the Art of Rare Disease Activities in Europe, funded by the EU Health Programme.
In 2015, Rodwell became a public official at the INSERM (French National Health and Medical Research Institute). Based in the department that hosts Orphanet (www.orpha.net), the rare diseases and orphan drug knowledge base, she develops Orphanet’s partnerships and research collaborations, as well as our strategic communications and outreach.
