Sarah Kaplan is a reporter at the Washington Post writing about climate change and its toll on communities. Her job has taken her from the Arctic Circle to the top of the Empire State Building to flooded farms in North Carolina and the fire-scorched forests of the West. Before covering climate, she worked vampire hours on the overnight news team and reported on Earth and the cosmos on the science desk. Sarah also contributes to the Post’s national breaking news coverage, reporting on disasters, shootings and the coronavirus pandemic.

Kaplan shared in winning, with her colleagues, the 2021 Innovative Storytelling Award
