Brett Murphy is a reporter on USA Today’s investigations desk. He co-founded Local Matters, a weekly newsletter curating the best local investigative reporting around the country. Murphy has taught reporting at George Washington University and won numerous journalism awards, including the 2020 Livingston for international reporting and a 2018 Pulitzer finalist nod. He was also recently named one of Forbes 30 under 30 in media. Murphy is based in Milwaukee, WI.
